Clarksburg Couple Sues 61 Companies in Asbestos Case

CHARLESTON,SC – A Clarksburg couple is suing 61 companies who are allegedly responsible for causing an asbestos-related lung cancer.

Joseph J. Gulas and his wife Betty Gulas have filed a lawsuit against the corporations on May 20 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The couple says Mr. Gulas was exposed to asbestos during his employment between 1966 and 1980. Consequently, he was diagnosed with lung cancer on September 8, 2010, the complaint says.

The defendants are blamed for negligence, contaminating buildings, breach of implied warranty, intentional tort, conspiracy and failure to warn.

The plaintiffs are seeking a jury trail to get all the issues involved in the case resolved. The case will be presided over by a visiting judge.
